The Papantonis vineyard consists of 20 acres planted in 1982 after extensive research. We chose the ideal fertile land located within the small village
of Malandreni, in the high
lands of the province of Argolis and within Greece's best
vinticultural producing region of Nemea
to develop our vineyard.
Under Greek law, our vineyard belongs within the denominated
region of Nemea for appellation of origin wines (V.Q.P.R.D.)
Our estate is located at an altitude of 320 meters above sea level within the steep hills and deep valleys of Nemea, a region which boasts an ideal local microclimate (dry hot days and cool moist nights) for growing the most exquisite varieties of grapes – Agiorgitiko or Saint George, and Roditis among them. The soil is
sandy clay with unique draining properties allowing for the
slow maturity of our grapes. This combination provides an
optimum environment for this grape variety, which is renowned
for its excellent wine producing characteristics.
