Welcome to the Papantonis Winery web site

Located in the ancient city of Argos, the Papantonis winery creates fine wines from their vineyards adjacent to the small village of Maladreni in the highlands of the Argolis province and within Greece’s best vinicultural producing region of Nemea.

The Papantonis family specializes in two Greek grape varieties and encourages you to try their spectacular wine creations: a deep red agiorgitiko named Meden Agan and an elegant white roditis chardonnay called Metron Ariston. Both names are derived from ancient Greek and mean ‘nothing in excess’ and ‘moderation is best’, the essence of the Papantonis family moral values. The winery was also the first to produce a sweet wine from the agiorgitiko variety which they baptized Lysimelis, meaning a wine that paralyzes your body with its sweetness. Their wine production is limited in order to maintain its excellent quality.

As the family puts it, “We want to produce, in the Greek tradition, the best agiorgitiko wine and the best roditis - chardonnay that we can. Our aim is to offer superior and personalized service to our consumers around the world, and to remind them that ‘moderation’ is the best philosophy."
